WMHD

What is World Mental Health Day?

Every year on the 10th of October, the world comes together to recognise the issues surrounding mental health, and this year, more than any other, this is an important cause to support.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many people’s mental health, particularly frontline and key workers, students, people who live alone, and those with pre-existing conditions. Subsequently, health services and charities, such as the NHS, counselling and substance recovery services have been significantly disrupted.

For WMHD 2021, education about, and awareness of, the effects of poor mental health are more important than ever, as is the ability to fight the stigma surrounding these issues. Working together allows us to move forward into a new, brighter day.
